Living in the south means when we enjoy being outside, so do the mosquitoes. Aside from being annoying, they bite and leave itchy whelps on your arms, legs, face, or wherever they can land and bite you.
How can you avoid them? You can have your yard sprayed with chemicals to deter them. Many people try citronella candles and oils, or other people resort to using bug spray. We have a better, and more beautiful idea!
There are many plants you can incorporate into your garden that are not only beautiful, but they also help to deter mosquitoes. We love the idea of natural remedies over chemicals. The following plants have been shown to be natural mosquito repellents:
Allium
Basil
Bee Balm
Cat Nip
Citronella
Floss Flower
Lavender
Marigold
Mint
Rosemary
Sage
Scented Geranium
We would love to know your thoughts! Did we miss any plants that you use to repel these annoying, biting, mosquitoes? Let us know!
